Ready-Mix Concrete Order Guide South Africa
Calculate the required finished volume, confirm the specified concrete and obtain a complete South African supplier quote. A volume result alone is not a delivery plan.

Quick answer: measured volume comes first
Add the project’s non-overlapping concrete sections, identify extras and deductions, and agree an ordering allowance. Confirm any order increment before rounding upward. The main concrete calculator’s ready-mix option shows that final volume without inventing a supplier’s minimum order.
Ready-mix versus bagged premix
Ready-mix usually refers here to concrete supplied wet for placement, whereas the bag tools need a complete dry concrete premix with a declared mixed yield. Retail wording can overlap. Confirm exactly what is supplied, its intended application and whether the quote is per m³, per bag or per delivered load.
Information to include in the enquiry
Provide the location, access constraints, intended placement date, measured quantity, required specification and planned placing method. Ask about lead time, minimum volume, order increments, part loads, delivery, pump arrangements, waiting and cancellation terms. The calculator cannot know a branch’s current conditions.
What the load calculation means
If your entered capacity is 6 m³ and the order is 7 m³, the arithmetic minimum is two loads. That does not say how the supplier will divide the loads or whether the site can place them in time. Confirm the actual vehicle, load limits and schedule with the provider.
Quoted cost without a made-up rate
The optional estimate is final volume multiplied by your entered rate per m³, plus the other charges you enter. Use one consistent VAT basis. Add every applicable fee explicitly; the tool does not retrieve live PPC, AfriSam, BUCO or Cashbuild prices.
Check before the pour
Confirm preparation, formwork, reinforcement, access, people and equipment against the actual project specification. Do not use an extra water dose to resolve an ordering or workability concern without the supplier’s instructions. Keep the quantity calculation and supplier confirmation together.
Use the related calculators
Apply the explanation above with your own figures. Open a calculator below, check every input and review the result assumptions before making a decision.
Frequently asked questions
Is readymix the same search as ready mix?
Both spellings can describe the wet concrete supply question. This site uses one main concrete tool for that intent.
Does the calculator know minimum delivery volumes?
No. Enter confirmed supplier terms and any rounding increment yourself.
Are the estimated loads a delivery schedule?
No. They are a division by the entered capacity, rounded up. The supplier must confirm dispatch and placement arrangements.
