How to Use the Driving Arrival Time Calculator
Moving hours = distance ÷ average moving speed, or use a known duration. Total minutes = moving hours × 60 × (1 + traffic buffer ÷ 100) + stops + delay. Arrival = departure + total minutes. Leave-by = arrive-by − total minutes.

How to use the driving arrival time calculator
Choose arrival or leave-by. Enter the relevant date and time in South African Standard Time. Select known duration or distance and average speed. Add planned stops, an extra delay and optional percentage traffic buffer.
Worked example (illustration only)
Depart at 08:00 with 6.5 hours driving, 45 minutes of stops and 30 minutes of delay: arrive at 15:45 the same day. To arrive at 15:45 with those inputs, leave at 08:00. Example only.
What the result includes
Dates handle midnight and multi-day trips. Results use UTC+02:00 even when your device is in another time zone. Duration is rounded to the nearest minute before calculating the clock time. The calculator has no live traffic feed.
Safe planning
Average moving speed can be lower than the road’s speed limit. Allow rest and roadwork time. For cross-border travel, check the destination time zone separately.
