How to Use the Flight Baggage Cost Calculator
Chargeable extra bags = max(0, checked bags − included bags). Excess kg = max(0, total baggage weight − allowance). Cost = chargeable units × quoted price × travellers × chargeable flight legs + other trip fees.

How to use the flight baggage cost calculator
Enter your airline and quote date. Choose the fee model in the actual ticket conditions, then enter travellers, chargeable legs, bags or weights and included allowances. Add online and airport unit prices from your dated quote.
Worked example (illustration only)
1 traveller, 2 legs, 1 additional bag at R450 online per leg gives R900. An airport quote of R600 per leg gives R1 200. These are example prices, not any airline’s current fees.
What the result includes
No airline prices or allowances are automatically loaded. Piece, excess-kg and quoted-band models are separate. Weight-band mode needs the fixed fee for the actual band. Travellers with different bags or fares must be calculated separately.
Check the booking conditions
Check cabin, fare, route, dimensions, booking stage and ticket allowance with the airline. Some fees are charged once for a journey rather than once for each segment: use chargeable legs, not the number of take-offs.
