The Brick & Mortar Formula
Brick quantities in South Africa are based on a fixed coverage rate per square metre for each brick size and wall thickness, so the calculation is a straightforward multiplication.
If Wastage Applied: Bricks Needed = Bricks Needed × 1.10
Cement (50kg bags) = Bricks Needed × 0.003 (3 bags per 1000 bricks)
Building Sand = Bricks Needed × 0.0006 m³ (0.6m³ per 1000 bricks)
